The Experience

The Experience begins at a designated briefing point in Milngavie, the starting point of the West Highland Way.

The group requires to be at the start location at 09.00 hours for a walking start of 10.00 hours on day one.

At the briefing the Trail Boss will give a short half hour talk to the group. This will cover objectives, equipment, safety and specific requirements.

Questions will be taken and personal kit issued. Within one hour of assembly, the group will be on its way.

The experience covers accomodation and good basic food. All other home comforts can be accommodated for, but at the individual's or group's expense.

One of the objectives of the experience is to walk the distance under your own steam, in other words carry all the kit the full distance - a real achievement! However, if individuals wish their kit to be carried by transport, tents to be erected, etc, this can be done. It will not, however, be encouraged as experience on prior trips has shown that "when one gives up" the rest are relieved and follow suit, thereby missing out on the pleasure of individual accomplishment.

A personal plan will be encouraged by the Trail Boss, including personal objectives. Any required evaluation process will be undertaken by the customer directly, or by a hired external agents, contracted by ourselves to the customer.

The group will arrive "whatever" in Fort William after 7 days walking and 6 nights under canvas. For those who finish, there will be a glass of champagne to celebrate. The group will then be transported back to a pre-arranged drop off point in Glasgow.
